A structured home for adults living semi-independently.
Dorchester is the first residence in the Summit Care Collective — a small, Class 2 home for adults with mental health, developmental, or behavioral health needs who can manage parts of their day on their own, but benefit from a real home, structured support during high-need hours, and someone always reachable when something comes up.
Every Dorchester resident receives an individualized plan, daily structure during peak-need hours, and a care team trained in de-escalation, medication oversight, and Ohio MHAS / DODD standards.
Photo-verified administration during on-site blocks. Self-administered evening doses are photo-documented and reviewed every morning. No PRN policy.
Direct-care staff on-site daily, scheduled around medication times, meals, and the highest-need behavioral windows.
Door & motion sensors and cellular smoke/CO monitoring keep residents safe around the clock.
Trauma-informed approach. Daily mood tagging and coordination with each resident's outpatient team.
Personal Needs Allowance handled with signed receipts, GPS-stamped transactions, and audit-ready ledgers — ready for SSA/RSS review.
Meals, laundry, hygiene support, transportation to appointments, and community outings during on-site blocks.
Class 2 means semi-independent. Our residents handle parts of their day on their own — and that's the point. Knowing whether Dorchester is right for someone before move-in is how we keep the home working for everyone.
Dorchester is the founding residence of Summit Care Collective. Too many adults bounce between hospitals, jails, and short-term placements because the system can't hold them. We built Dorchester to be the floor — a small, well-run home where a resident's day is predictable, dignity is non-negotiable, and the staff actually know their name.
The home is licensed for Class 2 residential care and operates to Ohio MHAS, DODD, and BWC/SHARP standards. Owner-operated, not a franchise.
We accept referrals from county boards, hospital discharge planners, family members, and self-referrals. Most placements complete within 7–10 days of inquiry.
You call or fill out the contact form. We respond within one business day.
30-minute phone conversation to confirm Class 2 fit, level of care, and funding source.
Resident and family visit the home; we complete an in-person assessment and review records.
Service plan finalized, medications transferred, sensor walkthrough, and welcome day scheduled.
We answer every inquiry — referral source, family, or someone seeking a placement for themselves.
